I began my career in education as a teaching assistant at Lone Jack Elementary School in August 1994. I began teaching special education at Soldier's Memorial Middle School  as an inclusion teacher in August 1996. I taught 8th graders for two years before moving to North Laurel Middle School in London, Kentucky from August 1998-May 2000. At North Laurel Middle, I taught 6th and 8th graders in reading and language arts. In August 2000, I moved back to Solider's Memorial Middle School and taught 7th grade inclusion math and science. In August 2002, I began teaching at Grand Oaks Elementary School as an inclusion teacher. During the 2008-2009 school year, I received specialized training in Reading Recovery which was very helpful in teaching students with learning with disabilities in reading. In 2009 I began teaching the developmental preschool class for four years and am now the K-5 inclusion teacher for grades K-5. I treasure the variety of teaching experiences that I have gathered. I have a passion for teaching students with learning disabilities and enjoy working in a variety of classrooms.

I was born and raised in Bell County, Kentucky. I have lived in Clinton for 12 years and am proud to call that my home. I have two children, John and Maggie along with a cat named Shiloh.
