Check-Out Policies 

Every student, staff member and parent is eligible to receive library check-out privileges.  Simply stop by the library during the school day  to register.  All items are checked out for a one week period of time, but renewals are allowed if an item is not on hold.  The number of allowable check-outs is as follows:

  • Kindergarten students: total of 1 item at one time

  • 1st & 2nd grade students: total of 2 items at one time

  • 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade students: total of 3 items at one time

  • Parents: total of 3 items at one time

  • Staff: 3 items at one time

  • Teachers: 100 items at one time

Additionally, 3rd - 5th grade are allowed to check out one magazine at a time for a one week time period. This counts as one of their three check-outs allowed. Fourth and 5th graders are allowed to check out one Playaway audio book at a time, with the permission of their parents, for a one week time period. This counts as one of their 3 check-outs allowed.

 
 About Our Library  The library is open Monday through Friday beginning at 7:30 a.m. and closes at 3:00 p.m.  Students are encouraged  to visit the library at any time during the day in order to check out materials, research class assignments or to read a good book.

Each class has one scheduled library class every week.  Classes for Preschool and Kindergarten students focuses on book care and nurturing a love of a good story.  First and 2nd grade classes continue the focus on book care and good stories while tying material into the classroom curriculum.  Special emphasis is placed on comparing different versions of a fairy tale, grade specific science and social studies topics as well as math tie-ins.  Third, 4th and 5th grade classes focus on basic library skills intended to create a life-time learner and reader.
